Denver Museum

On September 5th, We went to the museum, it was pretty fun. They had lots of different areas like an Gems & Minerals so pretty lots of sparkley things!, Expedition Health which we took a picture of Abigail and it aged her to 70, we also got hooked up to a brain wave thing and the more relaxed you were then the ball would go to the next person, well my brain was to active I was not able to "push" the ball but duh since dustun has a nothing box he can go to he was relaxed and won, Egyptian Mummies which had 2 mummies it it pretty interesting to know what they did back then, Space Odyssey whee Abigail got to dress like a astronaut, and play in a crater, Prehistoric Journey where we begun when the dinosaurs were here then progressed to now a days.

We had a great day, and i am so happy we were able to go.

Flying

On Saturday August 15th Abigail and I flew back to Utah. Dustun and I stayed up watching a movie and never went to bed until 12:00 and I never fell asleep until 12:30, well 3:00 came around way to fast, so I got Abby up and ghost feed her, then I got Dustun up and had him take her bed apart, we were out the door at 4:00, then to Dustun a non boarding ticket so he could help me get through security, but I forgot, so I had to but my bag, my backpack, my shoes all my formula, my zip-lock bag of 3 Oz liquids, my car seat, the base, the stroller all on the x-ray machine, all the while holding Abigail, it was a zoo, then 3 seconds later, I had to re-assemble and put everything back. We get on the plane, and Abigail has been awake since about 5:00I figure the second I nursed her she will pass out for the whole flight, nope she ate had a 10 min nap and was awake the rest of the flight, which she was good, she looked out the window, looked at the man next to us, and played with the things on the tray table, she kept grabbing for my cup so i let her have a drink of my apple juice she did really good, she grabbed it correctly and never even spilled, ( she is growing up so fast)
Finally we landed, We were all excited to see mom/grandma, dad/grandpa, daughter and granddaughter, mo mwas crying then i started crying but she gave them a big smile, I am so happy to have them, I am so happy they love us as much as they do.
We went to breakfast, then we went to my aunt Susan's house, where we visited with her for a little bit, my cousin's had spent the night so they came up and visited for a bit, then we came and picked Amanda up, and went to Logan, My grandma and Grandpa didn't know we were coming, my grandmas face was priceless, she saw me walk through the door, and she had the look of, oh crap I am loosing my mind, then she started to cry, she misses Abigail and I so much, it just brakes my heart when we have to say good bye. My aunt JB and Mino were there so I was able to visit with them also.
By this time I am going on 13 hours awake on 3 hours of sleep, I am pooped,, we get to my moms house unload I make Abigail a bottle and I slept for a few minutes, then mom asks if she can take Abby, I gladly get up and head to my room there i passed out until 6:15, I probably would have slept longer but i was so hungry all I had to eat was breakfast, as I am laying there I realize it is so quiet, I get up and find a note, from mom, saying they took Abby to the ward party, so i call to see if there is still food, and I drive down there, and ate and talked and played volleyball.
I am so done, but I have to get Abigail in bed then I run to Walmart to get her food and diapers, finally around 11:00 I passed out

It was a long day, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Dustun and I went to a Chinese restaurant (New Panda) that was recommended by a co worker, I thought the place was decorated really nice, and the food was good, I got this pineapple shrimp, entrée, it was good but I loved the presentation, it was in a pineapple shell that was hallowed out. mmmmm

Garden of the Gods

Yesterday was an amazing day, not only was dustun home, but Abigail took a two hour and 40 min nap, in the morning and an hour long one in the afternoon, and we got out and took a beautiful walk around the Garden of the Gods.
This was our free activity for the week, and boy it was worth it, there are these huge wonderful red rocks shooting straight up in the sky, the trail was paved so we were able to push Abigail around, the weather was pretty good. she was so cute, when ever she herd a bird chirp she would get all excited, and when she herd any other kids, making noise she would follow suite, and when she saw dustun and I drinking from our water, she would lick her lips, and kick her legs, so we would give her a bit of water.

There was a lot of people rock climbing, some looked harder then others. I have been repelling a couple of times but never rock climbing I would love to give it a try sometime, even if it is on the portable fake wall that travels, I would like to say I
tried it. maybe some day.
Dustun and I ate out on the patio of the visitors center that over looked the scenery, we both had buffalo burgers with chipotle sauce, they were dang good.

Seven Falls

So Yesterday we went to the Seven Falls, It was so amazingly beautiful there. The climb to the top of the falls, not so fun, but i am happy I was able to do it! I am not normally a scardey cat, but the stairs were so narrow and so steep and then then wind kicked up and they started moving I was having such a panic attack. I wanted to stop but i really wanted to say i made it to the top and beyond, so I kept going. Once we made it up there you could follow all the trails in the mountain, but I was definitely wearing the wrong shoes, ( I mean who wears flip flops to go hiking?!) but it is hard for me to wear a closed toe shoes, since i broke my toe, How did I do that? I had a blonde moment and was scooting my chair in and my feet were behind the legs to help, and some how I got my foot under the leg and I went scoosh, it went purple and swollen in about 3 minutes, i hurt so bad. Anyways, I am so happy to be able to get out in the out doors and enjoy living/staying here in Colorado, we are trying to do as much as we can in case we go back to Texas, we know Abigail is not going to remember any of these tings but we will and thats what all the pictures are for.

She was so cute, i took her out of her stroller so i could help her to sleep, I think the beat of the Indian drums help, soon she passed out and since she only sleep s for about a half hour, we headed back to the car to wait so we could change her diaper, reapply sunscreen and load her up in the front carrier so we could make it up the fun stairs! We were sitting in the back of the truck and some older lady was like oh that is so sweet can i take your picture so you can remember this moment, I do cherish those moments were she cuddles up and sleeps on me I know that too soon she will be a "big" girl and not want me to hold her, that will be so sad. but until then we will take her places and show her around, so when she gets older she will love and appreciate all the activities we do.

Updates

So let me just jump right in, We sold house house in San Antonio, Abby I were living in Utah while dustun was doing his phase one of ultrasound school in Wichita Falls, TX, then on June 17, 2009, Amanda, Abby, and I made another long drive, this one not so fun, she cried like the whole time she made herself sick we changed her about 4 times. finally this 9 hour drive turned into a 13 hour drive we made it here.

she had finally passed out, but he wanted to hold her, so he pulled her out of her car seat and she just laid there and went to sleep on him, he was so happy to see her, and me, but mostly her!
Flying is the way to go, for about $100.00 i can fly round trip in be in Utah in a hour and half, and hold her the whole time. Amanda stayed here for a few days, then she flew back, that day at the airport was so sad, i saw Amanda cry i have honestly never seen her cry.

Dustun, Abigail and I have had so much fun while we have been here, i am so grateful we are able to join him while he is in his phase two of school.

Goodbye to you

Last time in our house was on May 21st 2009, I am sad to leave it, i remember dustun and picking it out and i remember when i made my scrapbook craft room into a baby's room, which turned into Abigail's room i remember the good time and the bad times, I will miss this house it was one or our first big ticket items we had become an adult by buying our first house together. As sad as I am about moving and selling the house i am ready for whatever the military throws at us, i am ready for a new change of pace, and ready to make new good and bad memories in a new place, so to the 862 Barrel point house you will be missed thanks for keeping us safe from all the Texas rain and heat. We hope the new owner will love you as much as we did. love the Carlsen's

1st trip to the zoo

On May 9th 2009, Hogle Zoo had a mommy and and me day, so my mom, sister, Abigail, and i all went. it was so much a perfect weather, it wasn't to hot or cold, which is a good thing cause i carried abby on my belly most of the day. Today she got her first taste of sun, so we bought sunscreen and a hat to protect her fair skin from turning red. I know she was to young to understand what was really going on but i tried to talked to her and tell her what animal we were looking at. here are some pictures form the day:

catch up

Well i haven't really talked about it for fear of cursing it but it is this far along i feel i can openly talk about it. We sold our house!!! ok well let me rephrase that we paid some one to take our house, it totally sucks it drains our saving account but we were more afraid to let this offer go and not get anything and spend more money, so we went for it. So dustun graduated from phase one of ultrasound school (with the highest GPA ever, way to go baby way proud of you) and he has two weeks off until he goes to phase two in Colorado springs, Abby and I flew to Texas to help pack the house up and put it in storage for the next 5 months, it is totally weird thinking of all of our belongings being in a storage unit. We have the priesthood helping on the 19th to load and unload the u-hal and the relief society helping on the 20 to clean, then Abby and I are back on a plan on the 21st to Utah.
Here is a picture of dustun holding Abby for the first time in a few months, i had him feed her so she could look at him and remember him, i think it worked she never was scared she felt at home with him.

Sunday Drive

On Sunday My mom, dad, Abby and I all went for a Sunday drive, It was going great except, Abby spit up all over her self so i tried cleaning her up then she made a poopy so we stop off at a gas station i cleaned her bum and put her in nice clean dry clothes. Then we were ready to go, it was so pretty out side every time I looked at Abby she was looking out side,or playing with her bear so cute.
We drove past a calf farm and there was a bunch of baby calf's they were so cute, i had to get out and pet and feed them.
I had so much fun spending time with my parents, and looking at the beautiful scenery.

I am here!

oh man I have been really slacking, well Of course Abby just woke up so i only have a few minutes but Abigail, Bandit and I made the LONG 4 day drive from Texas to Utah, it took so long because when you breastfeed your baby, they get hungry every 2/3 hour and you have to stop and feed her and it takes about an hour to feed, burg change and give some love.
I am living in my sisters house, Abigail and I share a room which is great because she makes me feel not so alone. In this small house we have a boxer, a shih-tzu, a cat, a baby and two females sometimes it is crazy in this house.

pictures will be coming soon

In need of....

So here is my pathetic plea for help in borrowing some things.
On March 13ish, my sister, my dog, my baby, and I will be making the 22 hour drive back to Utah, while dustun is gone to school I will be moving back to Utah, I will be here until the middle of June, he gets done with the first part of school the middle of May, but i was already planning on coming home the begging of June to see Travis graduate high school (wow that is weird to think about) and to watch the houses and business and animals while my family go on their cruise to Alaska, (can we say jealous?!)
Anyways back to my plea, I have no room in my car for Abigail big items, (swing, bouncer, jumper, ext. so I was thinking about how to have the things she likes/needs, and be cost effective to me, and I figure well basically everyone I know has kids, so I figure maybe I can borrow somethings for the few months I am there, then I don't have to try and pack, sell, ship or buy anything.
So if you or anyone you know, has some baby things, they are not using and wouldn't mind borrowing me let me know!
Thank you all so much!
And see youin a few weeks, yippy!

My house

Well our house is up on the market, I am so scared of it not selling, but I know it eventually will, but the waiting and hopping and not knowing is a bit scary. We have out first open house scheduled for February 8th (happy birthday dustun) my mom will be here so she can help me fluff, and not stress, after all Abigail will only be a few weeks (hopefully not days!) old.

My somewhat plans are if the house sells around March 16th, then I will go back to Utah while Dustun is in phase one of school, that will save a bunch of money on renting an apartment, then after we either will move on base if there is an open house, or in an apartment here in Texas, or we might be moving to a new place in a new state altogether, (To be determined at a later time by the military)

Our life is so uncertain and we have so many big things happing, next year in 2010 when I look back in 2009 I know I will be like wow how did we do all that?

Here is a link of our virtual tour of our house, (if the link doesn't work let me know) Also any tips/ ideas on how to sell the house?!

Enjoy

Crazy, Busy, Excited, Crazy

Well the Carlsen household here in Texas is about to experience some changes. Everything is hitting and about to hit at the same time, I am just hopping that it all hits smoothly.
Here is a shortened version of what going on:
* Real estate agent coming to look at the house and to to put it up on the market today.
* Cleaning like a mad woman, gotta make the house presentable for open house, and pictures.
* De junking things, trying to sell what I can and donate the rest.
* Trying to get all my paperwork and legal crap together.
* Having a baby.
* Mom coming into town.
* dustun leaves me and newborn for two months for first part of ultrasound school.
* have no idea where we will be living in a few months.
* looking at apartments.
* trying to get on the base housing waiting list.
* praying so hard that he house will sell in 2 months or less, so I can go home while dustun is in school.
* last day of work was yesterday
* Trying not to stress, or over work myself, I want Abby here but cause she is ready and not cause I forced her out!

I will keep you posted on whats new, but as for now that our life!
